Operating Principle
This chapter describes the basic procedures to operate and configure an INSYS
ADSL 1.1. In general, the INSYS ADSL 1.1 is configured and operated via a
management interface (MI). You can enter these commands with the help of a
Telnet connection and the command reference.
11.1
Operation via Telnet Connection
In general, every Telnet client, like it is contained Windows or Linux for
example, can be used. We recommend to use the program "PuTTY". It is
available free of cost on the Internet at
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty.
Configuring the INSYS ADSL 1.1 with a Telnet connection
How to configure and operate the INSYS ADSL 1.1 with a Telnet
connection.
The INSYS ADSL 1.1 is connected to the PC via a LAN connection; the
power supply is enabled.
The PC has an IP address in the network 192.168.1.0/24, but not
192.168.1.1.

Open a Telnet connection to the IP address 192.168.1.1 and port
15000 (default setting).
The INSYS ADSL 1.1 replies with
INSYS ADSL Management Interface

If the INSYS ADSL 1.1 does not respond, this may have the following
probable reasons:
a) it is switched off or
b) it is configured to a different IP address or port.

Configure now the INSYS ADSL 1.1 using the commands.
A reference of the commands can be found in the "Command
Reference" section.

Save your settings with the
save
command.
The set value will not be stored permanently and does not become
effective right away for modifiable commends. The new value will only
be stored permanently after executing the
save
command.
4.
Restart the INSYS ADSL 1.1 using the
reboot
command.
The new settings becomes effective after a restart only.
