The companion comes pre-linked to the fixture module from the factory. However, if you perform a factory reset on the Companion Switch, you will
need to re-link it to the fixture module before you link to anything else

Controlling other INSTEON Products from the Companion
1) Press and hold the top of the Companion paddle (for about 10 seconds) until the LED begins blinking
2) Press and hold the set button on the INSTEON compatible Responder you wish to control (for about 3 seconds) until its LED flashes
Note:
For multi-button products, press and hold the button of choice until LED / load flashes
Assigning an X10 Address
1) Press and hold the Companion’s Set button (for about 3 seconds) until your light flashes once
2) Send the desired X10 address 3 times
Your light will flash (your Fixture module now has an X10 address, it does not matter whether you send on’s or off’s)
3) Press and hold the top of your Companion Switch’s paddle (for about 10 seconds) until the LED flashes
4) Send the same X10 address 3 times
The Companion Switch’s LED will stop blinking
Using the Companion Switch
Paddle Top
– Tap to turn lights on – Double tap for fast on – Press & hold to brighten until you release
Paddle Bottom
– Tap to turn light off – Double tap for fast off – Press & hold to dim until you release
Setting the Ramp Rate and On-Level
1) Set Ramp Rate
a.
Tap OFF (bottom) of your Companion Switch
b.
Press and hold the ON (top) of your Companion as per the table below, for your desired ramp rate

Quickly double-tap the Companion’s Set button. (you may wish to use a small screwdriver or ball point pen)
The light will flash once (Companion’s LED will flash each time you tap it)
2) Set
On-Level
a.
Dim and/or brighten your light to the desired, default on-level (brightness it turns on at)
b.
Tap the Companion’s Set button once
The light will flash once
3) Press and hold the bottom of the Companion’s paddle (for about 10 seconds) until the LED begins blinking
4) Press and hold the Companion’s Set button until the light flashes (about 3 seconds)
The LED will stop blinking and your new On-Level is set
5) Turn your light on and off from your Companion to see if ramp rate and on-level are as desired
Note:
a single tap of the Set button sets the on-level, so if ramp rate is not as expected, you may have set the on-level
