Fill the inner pot with at least one cup of liquid (like water, juice, stock, or
broth). Your cooker needs liquid to build up internal pressure. Use the
provided measuring cup for easy volume measurement.

Make sure that the outside of the inner pot is dry and free of debris, then put it
into your cooker. Liquids on the outside of the pot can damage the heating
element.

Make sure that the inner pot is level with the cooker housing and that no
objects remain between the inner pot and the inner housing.

Put the lid on your cooker, then lock the lid in place. See Closing the lid on
page 14.

Make sure that the pressure release knob is in the sealing position
.

Plug the power cord into a power outlet. Your cooker turns on and goes into
Standby mode.
