Capacitive Touchscreen
User Manual H12 / SCAMAX® 8x1 - Version 2019.12
Switching to
Strong Filter
will improve conversi-
on quality further, the resulting image contains
even less noise and appears clearer.
Activating the
Disable Dynamic
control will turn
off the complex and powerful binarization fun-
ction offered by the scanner, an algorithm designed to create the best possible bitonal images from
virtually any mix of source documents.
The settings for
Contrast
and
Outlining
will be ignored and binarization will revert to using a fixed
threshold, which is specified with the
Brightness
slide control.
Please note: When processing purely black & white input documents, a fixed brightness threshold
may produce output images of equal or even better quality.
4.6.2.5.4. Stream Control
The menu item
Stream Control
enables a spe cial
mode, which determines during the scan pro-
cess, which image format will be created, based on its settings and the detections. All activations of
streams of this page
(Color/Gray/Bitonal)
are reset upon activation of the Stream Control, however its
settings remain, since they are required for generating the respective image type, via
Stream Control
.
Configuration of
Stream Control
may be performed through the following settings screens.
Checking the option at the
top of the
General
screen
will either activate
Copy to
Back
(
front side
) or
Same
as Front
(
back side
). As a
result, all settings made
for front sides will also be
applied to reverse sides, or
vice versa.
The following four fields
deal with global settings,
for Stream Control
Use
Default Stream
to determine the image
type initially transmitted, when using
Stream
Control
. You may choose one of the three image types (
Color, Gray, Bi-
tonal
) or
Detection
, which will identify the current image type, automati-
cally. The Detection result will depend on settings made in configurati-
on screens
Detection
and
Detection Settings
, and naturally also on the
type of document scanned.
These two items control
Toggle-Mode
, which
will switch between the
Default Stream
and
an image type of your choice. The same event
is used to switch back and forth. Choose an
event from the event list (
see chapter
) offered through field
Toggle at
. Once you have selected
an event, the
Toggle to
field will become active, which you can now use to select the alternate image
type. Again, you may choose one of the three image types (
Color, Gray, Bitonal
) or
Detection
, just as
for
Default Stream
. For as long as
Toggle-Mode
is active, any other event driven switching of image
type, as defined on the
Events
screen, will be deactivated.
