Event List
Many scan-profiles use scan-time events to control or trigger func-
tions. This is particularly true in the case of
Stream Control
(
see chapter
) or the control of paper
Output
(
see chapter
). Scan-time
events are also used for the extended activation of more complex func-
tions such as
Double Feed Detection
(
see chapter
) or
Annotations
(
see chapter
). Furthermore, the control of internal Counters (
see
chapter
) and individual functions such as
Delete Image(s)
at (
see
chapter
Scan Pause at
(
see chapter
) all rely on scan-
time events.
The following scan-time events are available:
•
Detection of one particular patch code type or detection of any
patch code, alternatively the absence of any patch codes.
•
Every sheet scanned or, as a subset thereof, every sheet transfer-
red.
•
Reaching the trigger value of one of the four counters.
•
Every barcode found or, as a subset thereof, every barcode with
the right trigger value.
•
Double feed detection.
•
Switching from one input tray to the other or, when using the dual
input hopper, activation of one of the hopper trays.
•
Detection of documents shorter or longer than a pre-defined
length
In combination with certain functions, some elements from the event
list will be missing. Such elements are intentionally hidden whenever
a function is executed before the desired event can occur, as would be
the case e.g. with stop scanning and counter triggered. However, the
fact that an event IS listed does not imply that its use necessarily makes
sense. For example, combining
Scan Pause at
with
Every Scanned Sheet
is
technically possible, but it is also – in practical terms – rather pointless.
