EVAP Test
The
EVAP Test
function lets you initiate a leak test for the vehicle's
EVAP system.
The Scan Tool does not perform the leak test, but signals to
vehicle's on-board computer to initiate the test. The vehicle
manufacturer determines the criteria and method for stopping the
test once it has been started. Refer to the vehicle's service repair
manual to determine the procedures necessary to stop the test.
1.
From the System Test menu, select
EVAP Test
, then press
ENTER
.
2.
A "One moment please..." message
displays.
3.
When the EVAP leak test has been
initiated by the vehicle's on-board
computer, a confirmation message
displays. Select
Back
, then press
ENTER
to return to the System Test menu; or,
press
M
to return to the Main Menu.
Some vehicle manufacturers do not
allow diagnostic tools or other
external devices to control vehicle
systems. If the
EVAP Test
is not
supported by the vehicle under test,
an advisory message displays. Press the
M
button to return to
the Main Menu.

While linked to the vehicle, press

.
The Main Menu displays.
2.
Select
Service Reset
, then press
ENTER
to continue.
The Service Reset screen displays.
3.
Select
Oil Reset
, then press
ENTER
.
The Oil Reset screen displays.
If the vehicle under test is equipped
with a navigation system, select
Yes
,
then press
ENTER
to continue.
If the vehicle under test is not
equipped with a navigation system,
select
No
, then press
ENTER
to
continue.
