Chapter 1 –
Configuring the Analyzer
The FGA4000XDS has various configuration options that can be set by the operator. This chapter describes each of
these options.
To enter the configuration options press the MODE button when the analyzer is in stand-by mode. Each time
the MODE button is pressed the display will advance to the next option. At any time you can exit the
configuration and return the analyzer to stand-by mode by pressing MODE EXIT button.
D A T A C A P T U R E O P T I O N :
The analyzer has the ability to store data. If there is currently data stored in the
analyzer the following display will appear. If you want to erase the data use the
▲ and ▼ buttons to select between yes and no. After you have made your
selection, press MODE or MODE EXIT. If yes was selected the stored data
will be erased. If no was selected the data will remain and any further data
capturing that is done will be appended to the end of the stored data.
The next display to appear lets you select whether or not to record data. Use the
▲ and ▼ buttons to select between yes and no. If yes is selected then when the
analyzer is placed in Measure Mode the data will be displayed and captured into
memory. When Measure Mode is exited the recording will stop. Each time
Measure Mode is entered the data will be appended to the end of the stored data.
Each time the analyzer is powered-up the default setting for this option is no.
L O W E R L E F T W I N D O W :
Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to move between the choices. As a choice is selected
the symbol will flash next to the window. You can select between displaying
NOx, AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) and RPM (TACH). To move between the two lower
windows use ◄ and ►buttons. When you have finished the selections you can
exit the setup mode by pressing MODE EXIT or go to the next setup item by
pressing MODE.
L O W E R R I G H T W I N D O W :
Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to move between the choices. As a choice is selected
the symbol will flash next to the window. You can select between displaying
RPM (TACH), λ (Lambda) and AFR (Air Fuel Ration). To move between the
two lower windows use ◄ and ► buttons. When you have finished the
selections you can exit the setup mode by pressing MODE EXIT or go to the
next setup item by pressing MODE.
S P E E D O P T I O N :
This option allows the response speed of the analyzer to be adjusted. For a BAR
certified system the analyzer should NOT be run in fast mode. Use ▲ or ▼ to
select between yes and no.
