SELECTABLE IMPEDANCE

This provides easy configuration of

the voice coils. With Kappa subwoofers,

there are no more confusing series and

parallel connections of voice coils,

and the connection of separate woofers

in multisubwoofer systems is easier.

NEODYMIUM MOTOR WITH

ALUMINUM HEATSINK

An aluminum extrusion provides a heatsink

for the motor’s steel parts. Neodymium

provides more magnetic energy in a smaller

space, which reduces overall weight, and is

inherently magnetically shielded.

THREE-INCH-DIAMETER

VOICE COILS

provide plenty of heat-dissipating surface

area for high power handling. Many other

woofers at comparable prices use smaller,

2-inch coils. Kappa woofers handle more power.

VENTED POLEPIECE

reduces air compression under the dust

cap, minimizing mechanical noise, and

provides more constant mechanical Q for

reduced distortion.

MEDIUM Q DESIGN

provides great performance in sealed,

vented or band-pass enclosures. Sealed

enclosures for Kappa woofers can be ±30

percent of the recommended volume.

Optimum vented boxes do not require

superlong ports.

TESTED TO ENSURE

THEY’LL STAND UP

Infinity subwoofers are tested according

to the strictest and most demanding

reliability-testing regimen ever designed

for car audio speakers. They are shaken,

baked, frozen and dropped, all while they’re

operating, and attempts are even made to

destroy them with signals up to 10 times their

rated power. When they’ve passed those tests,

the subs are subjected to their RMS and peak

power limits for 100 hours. Many competing

subs are tested for only eight hours.

EXTRACT ALL THE POWER

FROM ANY AMPLIFIER

Kappa Series subwoofers are available in

two configurations that provide either a

2-ohm or 8-ohm impedance, or 1-ohm or

4-ohm impedance. That’s enough flexibility

to provide an optimum load to any amplifier.
