Before you start

    

› 

 Ensure that you have the following:

         •   PC with USB port

         •   UART terminal software such as Tera Term 

              or Minicom

    

›  

Visit the 

kit website

 to download and install the

     

        

 required software.

    

› 

Ensure the jumper J12 is at position 2-3 to select 3.3 V.

    

› 

Connect the KitProg3 USB connector (J10) to your PC.

    

› 

Wait for the driver installation to complete.

   

Step 1: Connect the kit with UART terminal software

    

› 

Open the UART terminal software and connect to

        the kit’s USB-UART COM port with the following settings:

         •   Baud rate: 115200 bps

         •   Data: 8 bit

         •   Parity: None

         •   Stop bit: 1 bit

         •   Flow control: None

    

› 

Press the XRES switch (SW1) to reset the device.

   

Step 2: Run the pre-programmed code example 

    

› 

Follow the instructions displayed on the UART

        terminal to use the pre-programmed 

        code example.

   

Step 3: Observe the user LED (D13) brightness variation

    

› 

Observe the state of the user LED (D13) with the variation 

        of ambient light intensity. The LED turns ON when the 

        ambient  light intensity is lower than 45% and turns OFF 

        when higher than 55%.
