10.4 GC Module Replacement
Each Micro GC Fusion GC module contains the analytical components required to
perform a GC analysis. This includes an injector, column and detector. GC modules
can be easily replaced for maintenance or to configure Micro GC Fusion for different
applications.
For Micro GC Fusion instruments built after October 2019 and contain a JP-100, see
Removal of the JP-100 [
257] for instructions on how to remove the JP-100 before
module replacement.
For Micro GC Fusion instruments built before October 2019 and do not contain a
JP-100, proceed to GC Module Removal Procedure for 2-Module System [
GC Module Removal Procedure for 4-Module System [
CAUTION
Only technically qualified personnel should perform the procedures and
maintenance described in this manual.
10.4.1 List of Required Tools
• open-ended wrenches, 1/4 in. and 5/16 in.
• 2.5 mm ball point L-handle hex driver (PN 070-1999)
• 2.0 mm hex wrench (4-module only)
• 2.5 mm hex wrench (4-module JP-100 removal only)
• Phillips screwdriver
10.4.2 Removal of the JP-100
For instruments built after October 2019, the JP-100 must be removed prior to module
removal or replacement. Follow the steps below then continue to GC Module Removal
Procedure for 2-Module System [
265] or GC Module Removal Procedure for 4-
273].
10.4.2.1 2-Module JP-100 Removal
1 Shutdown the system by following the system shutdown procedure in Shutdown
251].
2 Remove all external electrical cables, including power cable and Ethernet cable.
