English
To remove the antennas, turn the ring coun-
ter-clockwise.
3) Use the XLR jack (9) or the 6.3 mm jack (10)
to connect the receiver to the subsequent
device (e. g. amplifier, mixer). Depending
on the input sensitivity of the subsequent
device, use a microphone input or a line
input.
Note:
The signal level of the 6.3 mm jack can be ad-
justed (
☞
fig. 5.3). Therefore, use this output jack
when the microphone signal is distorted due to a
sensitive microphone input.
4) Connect the power supply unit provided to
the power supply jack DC INPUT (8) and to
a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz). The receiver
is provided with a strain relief (7): Lead the
cable around the hook to prevent accidental
disconnection of the power supply unit from
the receiver.
Hint:
The power supply unit has a low power consump-
tion even when the receiver is switched off; therefore,
disconnect the power supply unit from the mains socket
when the receiver is not operated for a longer period
of time.
5 Operation
To switch on the receiver, keep the button
POWER (6) pressed until the display (3) lights
up. To switch off the receiver, keep the button
pressed until OFF appears on the display.
5.1 Setting the transmission channel
To set a free transmission channel, either use
the automatic scan function or set the channel
manually. Then simply press a button to set the
transmitter via an IR signal to the same channel.
1) Leave the corresponding transmitter switched
off for the time being so that a free transmis-
sion channel can be found.
2)
To automatically scan
a channel, keep the
button SYNC (2) pressed until the display
lights up in red and the indicator segments
of the numerals for FREQUENCY start ro-
tating. As soon as a free channel has been
found, the display will light up in white again
and the channel number (CH) and the fre-
quency (FREQUENCY) in MHz will be indi-
cated.
To manually set
a channel, press the but-
ton SET (5) once; the channel number (CH)
will start flashing on the display. While the
number keeps flashing (for a few seconds
after the button SET,
or
has been
pressed), set the channel with the button
or
(4). The setting will be saved as soon as
the number stops flashing.
Note:
If the number stops flashing before the setting
has been made, press the button SET again.
3) If the antenna symbol lights up on the
display when the transmitter is still switched
off, interference signals or signals from an-
other wireless system are being received. In
this case, set a different channel.
4) Switch on the transmitter and point the
infrared sensor of the transmitter towards the
IR window (1) of the receiver (see instruction
manual of the transmitter, if required). The
distance must not exceed 1 m. Make sure
that there are no obstacles between the
sensor and the IR window.
Briefly press the button SYNC (2). The
symbol
IR
will appear on the display while
data is being transferred. The transmitter and
the receiver will be set to the same chan-
nel as soon as the backlight of the display
is activated.
5) Once the receiver and the transmitter have
been set to the same channel, the antenna
symbol will light up on the display of the
receiver. If it fails to light up, check the fol-
lowing:
a) Are the batteries of the transmitter dis-
charged?
b) Is the reception disturbed by metal objects
in the transmission path?
c) Is it possible to improve the reception by
turning the receiving antennas?
d) Is the distance between the receiver and
the transmitter too long?
e) Is the threshold value for interference sup-
pression too high? (See chapter 5.2.)
5.2 Setting the interference suppression
(squelch)
The interference suppression will mute the
receiver in speech / music pauses when inter-
fering signals are received and the levels of
these signals are below the threshold value set.
A high threshold value, however, will reduce
