Configuring Video Input Settings
The following section provides information about configuring the HUC6801
+
D video input
settings including the following:
Selecting Video Input and Output Standards
Selecting Video Input and Output Standards
Selecting Video Input and Output Standards
There are three options that you can use to select your module’s video input standard: Auto,
525, or 625. The parameter option you select for your video input also affects the available
options for your upconverted video output.
Note:
In the section below, the term “frame rate compatible” is used to describe frame
rates that are the same or exactly double.
Each
Input Video Standard
parameter option is described below:
Auto
With this option selected, the HUC6801
+
D automatically detects the video
standard of incoming video. Only HD standards that are frame rate compatible with the
detected input standard are available as
Output Video Standard
parameter options. If
an HD video format is detected, the module is set to Bypass mode.
525
With this option selected, the HUC6801
+
D only accepts 525-based video inputs
(29.97 fps standard) for upconversion. Only frame rate compatible HD standards are
available as
Output Video Standard
parameter options. If a non-525-based standard
is detected at the input, the video output is handled according to the
Loss of Video
Output
parameter option.
625
With this option selected, the HUC6801
+
D only accepts 625-based video inputs
(25 fps standards) for upconversion. Only frame rate compatible HD standards are
available as
Output Video Standard
parameter options. If a non-625-based standard
is detected at the input, the video is handled according to the
Loss of Video Output
parameter
option.
Note:
If you select a non-frame rate compliant standard, the OSD will disappear. If this
occurs, use the
Factory Recall
parameter and then regain use of the OSD. This will take
several seconds.
