Loading nails and operating the tool
WARNING:
Always disconnect the tool from the compressed air before loading. When loading the
tool always point the tool away from yourself and others. Make sure that you are not holding the
tool with trigger depressed while loading the tool.
1.
To load nails, press down the feeder door latch and lift open the feeder door. Fold back the
magazine cover.
2.
Lift and adjust the nail disk to correspond to the height of nails used. Notice points on the mag-
azine correspond with nail lengths as follows:
19 22 25 32 38 45 millimeters
3/4” 7/8” 1” 1-1/4” 1-1/2” 1-3/4” inches
When using nails whose length falls between these values, use the higher reference point.
3.
Place the nail coil in the magazine.
4.
Insert the second nail into the feeder claw.
5.
Close the magazine cover. Close and lock the feeder door latch.
6.
Connect the tool to the air supply. Make sure the air pressure is in the correct pressure range
(see ”Technical data”).
7.
Test the driving depth in a test piece first. If the nail is being driven too far or not far enough,
adjust the regulator to provide less or more air pressure.
8.
Never operate the tool unless safety nose is in contact with the workpiece. Do not operate the
tool without nails or damage to tool may result.
9.
Never fire fasteners into air because fasteners may injury the operator, others or the tool.
Adjusting the tool
-
With the fire adjusting knob (C), nails can be driven in two ways: Depress the safety guide body
against the work surface, and pull the trigger (sequential fire). Pull the trigger and then depress
the safety guide body against the work surface for continuous operation (bump fire). To select
the firing mode, press down the fire adjusting knob. If it is not pressed down, the trigger will be
in safety mode when you do not use it.
-
The tool is equipped with a safety depth control. To adjust the depth of the nail being driven,
just simply turn the depth control knob (E).
-
The tool has a nail alignment feature (F) which guides the nail in a parallel path as it exits the
tool. Please also note that the tool is aligned with the work surface to assure a properly driven
nail. For adjusting the guide seat (less than 6mm), loosen the screw one full turn and slide the
guide seat to desired position.
-
The tool is equipped with three safety devices: Safety trigger will not actuate the tool until the
safety guide body is depressed against the work surface. This prevents accidental firing of the
tool. The plastic shield of guide body helps to deflect flying debris. Do not remove this shield.
Replace the shield when worn.
Clearing a nail jam
-
If a nail jam occurs, disconnect the tool from air supply.
-
Press down the feeder door latch and lift open the feeder door. Fold back the magazine cover.
-
Pull the nail coil and feeder claw to the rear.
-
Use tools (e.g. pliers) to extract bent nails from the rear of the guide body, or insert a rod and
then push the point of the nail back up and into the guide body core. Extract the nail with pliers
or turn the tool body upside-down and shake it out.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Disconnect the tool from the air compressor before adjusting, clearing jams, servic-
ing, relocating and during non-operation.
