Troubleshooting guide
NOTE!
Always disconnect the power cable from the wall socket before maintenance!

The reclining module does
not work.
Is the power cable connected to
the sofa?
Connect a lamp or similar object
to the power socket to check that
the power supply is working as it
should.
Is the power cable connected to
the wall socket?
Check all connections.
Is there visual damage to the cables
or the power supply?
Damaged parts must be replaced –
Contact IKEA Customer Service.
The reclining module stops
and can only run in the
opposite direction.
Is the reclining module in the fully
reclined position?
When the reclining module has
reached its fully reclined position, it
can only move towards the upright
position.
Is the reclining module in the fully
upright position?
When the reclining module has
reached its fully upright (sitting)
position, it can only recline.
The reclining module runs
automatically to the fully
reclined/upright position.
Is there any object pressing on the
control buttons?
Remove the object and try again.
Is there any object in the gap
between the buttons that is causing
them to get stuck?
Remove the object and try again.
The reclining module is
running slower than it
usually does.
Is the reclining module overloaded?
Remove the load and try again.
The reclining module
cannot move to the upright
position.
Is there any obstacle under
the footrest?
Remove the obstacle and try again.
There is a noise when the
reclining module reclines
or moves to the upright
position.
Does the noise come from
the motor?
A damaged motor must be replaced
– Contact IKEA Customer Service.
Does the noise come from
the mechanism?
To repair the mechanism – Contact
IKEA Customer Service.
