Reheating Toast
This function allows you to reheat bread that has already been toasted by giving it a short burst of heat.
•
Leave the Timer Set Browning Control (5) at your usual setting. Press the bread carriage lever down and then
press the Reheat button (4). The indicator light will light up to show the toaster is reheating the toast.
Only unbuttered toast must be reheated.
Toasting Tips
•
When toasting more than one slice of bread, use slices that are of a similar size, thickness and freshness.
•
Old or thin slices of bread toast faster than fresh or thick bread so a lower setting may need to be used.
•
Older bread contains less moisture which makes it better for toasting.
•
Sweet breads, such as tea cakes and fruit loaf, brown much quicker than ordinary bread. Ensure you use a
lower setting when toasting these breads.
Cleaning and Maintenance
•
Unplug the toaster and allow to cool down completely.
•
Use a soft damp cloth on the outside of the toaster.
•
Do not let anything go into the slots as you could possibly damage the elements inside.
•
Do not immerse the toaster in water or any other liquid.
•
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning pads or agents on the toaster as they will damage it.
•
Ensure that the crumb tray is regularly cleaned to stop a build up of crumbs in the toaster. This is not only
unhygienic but can also be a potential fire hazard.
•
Always ensure that the crumb tray is fitted when using the toaster.

Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
The toaster does not work.
1. Not properly plugged into the
mains wall socket.
2. No electricity in the mains wall
socket.
1. Plug in firmly.
2. Check fuse or breaker.
The toaster smokes when it is used.
1. The protective film is burning off
the elements.
2. Crumb tray is full and needs
emptying.
1. This is perfectly normal and will
stop with use.
2. Empty the crumb tray regularly.
The toaster carriage lever won’t stay
down.
1. The toaster is not plugged into
the electrical supply.
1. Plug the toaster into power
socket and switch on.
The toaster is not browning the toast
enough.
1. The browning control is set too
low.
2. The bread you are using is fresh
and therefore contains more
moisture.
1. Turn up the Browning Control to
a higher number.
2. Turn up the Browning Control as
fresh bread takes longer to toast
than bread that is 1 or 2 days old.
The toaster is burning the bread.
1. The Browning Control is set too
high.
1. Turn the Browning Control to a
lower setting.
The toaster must be earthed. Fit a 13A BS1362 fuse in a 13A BS1363 plug. Fit
the green/yellow wire to E, the blue wire to N and the brown wire to L. Fit the
cord grip. If in doubt, call an electrician. Don’t use a non-rewireable plug unless
the fuse cover is fitted. If you remove the plug, dispose of it.
