10.1 Resetting the camera to factory settings
If the camera stops responding, you have forgotten the administrator password for the camera, or you want to
use the camera again, you can reset the camera to its factory settings.
Resetting the camera to factory settings deletes the camera settings and, if applicable, vision apps created by
the user.
You have the following options to reset the camera to factory settings:
1. as Administrator
2. as Administrator
3. as Administrator
4. without authentication
Resetting the camera to factory settings via IDS NXT cockpit
Prerequisite IDS NXT cockpit is open and you are logged in as administrator.
1. In the Finder, select the camera.
2. Click “Connect”.
3. Click "Reset" under Application > Settings >General at "Factory reset".
4. Confirm the dialog.

Resetting the camera to factory settings deletes all settings and configurations of the camera as well as
vision apps created by the user, if applicable. You will need to set up the camera again and reinstall the
vision apps you want to use. The standard vision apps Classifier and Object Detector are retained. After
rebooting, the camera is in runtime mode. Note that by default, the camera attempts to obtain an IP address
from a DHCP server on the network (see
).
Resetting the camera to factory settings via the REST interface
Prerequisite You know your administrator password, which you have specified in the IDS NXT cockpit as
administrator. The camera is in runtime mode.
1. Open the website of the camera which documents the REST interface using the

2. Log in with your administrator password.
