USING THE TIMER FUNCTION
•
The clock must be set (see section
“Setting the clock”) to allow you to use
the timer function.
•
Fill the coffee maker with the required
amount of water and coffee/tea, as
described in the “Use” section. Place
the glass pot on the hotplate.
•
Hold the TIMER button on the control
panel in, and set the time the coffee
maker is to start by pressing the HOUR
and MIN buttons (as described in the
section entitled “Setting the clock”).
•
Release the TIMER button once the
time has been set and press the on/off
button once. The AUTO indicator light
shows green. The display shows
“AUTO”.
•
If you want to view the time that has
been set, hold the TIMER button in. The
time set and the word TIMER will be
shown in the display until you release
the button again.
•
Once the programmed time is reached,
the AUTO indicator light will go out. The
coffee maker will start, and the red ON
light will come on.
•
The coffee maker switches off
automatically approximately 2 hours
after brewing is complete.
CLEANING
•
Before cleaning, remove the plug from
the wall socket and allow the coffee
maker to cool down.
•
The filter funnel and glass pot can be
washed using normal washing-up
liquid, but are NOT dishwasher-safe.
•
The best way to clean the coffee maker
itself is to wipe it with a damp cloth
using hot water and a little washing-up
liquid. The coffee maker must not be
submerged in any form of liquid.
•
Do not use any kind of strong or
abrasive cleaning agent on the coffee
maker or accessories. Never use a
scouring sponge or similar to clean the
coffee maker, as the surface may be
damaged.
DESCALING
The lime content of ordinary tap water
means limescale may gradually be
deposited inside the coffee maker. This
limescale may be loosened using acetic
acid (NOT ordinary vinegar) or descaler,
available in supermarkets etc.
1. Mix 100 ml acetic acid with 300 ml cold
water, or follow the instructions on the
descaler packaging.
2. Pour the solution into the reservoir and
switch on the coffee maker using the
on/off button.
3. Allow half of the solution to run through
the coffee maker, and then switch it off
using the on/off button.
4. Leave it switched off for around 10
minutes, and then switch it on again,
and allow the rest of the solution to run
right through.
5. To remove the final residues of
limescale and acetic acid, pour a potful
of cold water into the water reservoir,
switch the coffee maker on and allow
the water to pass through it.
6. Pass fresh water through the machine 3
times (as described in point 5). The
coffee maker is now ready for use
again.
