NETWORK
CONNECTIVITY
CHECKS
The purpose of this test is to verify basic connectivity with the communications network
and with ICU Medical MedNet when the infuser is operating normally. The test is not
intended to be a connectivity performance test.
To check network connectivity, perform the procedure below for an Ethernet or Wireless
network as appropriate.
Note:
The infuser will operate in an Ethernet (wired) or a wireless network
configuration, but not both at the same time. When switching between
wired (Ethernet cable plugged in) and wireless (Ethernet cable unplugged)
modes, or when powering on the infuser while running on battery, it can
take up to two minutes for the infuser to complete the mode change. Allow
adequate time for the new configuration to stabilize when inserting or
removing the cable into the RJ-45 connector.
Ethernet Procedure:
1. Verify that a shielded Ethernet cable is plugged into the RJ-45 connector.
2. Power on the infuser.
3. Confirm that the green LED on the rear of the infuser is lit. If it is, then the infuser
is connected to the network
.
