PATIENT
PENDANT
INSPECTION
Inspect the patient pendant at least once every 12 months.
To inspect the patient pendant, see
, and proceed as follows:
1. Unfasten the retaining strap completely, and disconnect the patient pendant from
the jack labeled

on the back of the infuser.
2. Verify the patient pendant cable is free from cracks, fraying, and torn insulation.
If any damage is observed, replace the patient pendant
.
3. Verify the patient pendant and button is free of damage and evidence of fluid ingress.
Press the patient pendant button, and verify the button is not broken. If any damage
is observed, replace the patient pendant.
4. Verify the patient pendant port connector pin is present and in good condition.
If any damage is observed, replace the patient pendant.
5. Inspect both ends of the patient pendant for any signs of wear or damage.
If any damage is observed, replace the patient pendant.
6. Inspect the patient pendant cable fastener for damage. If any damage is observed,
replace the fastener.
7. When inspections are completed, connect the patient pendant to the jack
on the back of the infuser. Verify the patient pendant is properly engaged/retained.
