CLEANING
THE
INJECTOR
SWITCH
PIN
Spilled fluid can accumulate around the injector switch pin and injector pin hole
(

, which is part of the mechanism assembly. The spilled fluid can become sticky
or harden, which may retard or stop the spring action at the back of the injector switch
pin, causing the pin to become stuck. This can cause the infuser to indicate that the
injector flange is inserted in the injector flange retainer after the injector has been removed.

When a syringe is loaded into the infuser with the injector flange outside of the injector
flange retainer and the
CHECK INJECTOR
alarm message does not display, inspect the
injector switch pin to determine if spilled fluid has accumulated
(
)
. If so, or
if the infuser has failed the Stuck Injector Switch Pin Test described in
,
perform the injector switch pin cleaning procedure below.
