Emergency transmission
When [Emergency] is held down for the pre-programmed time
period, the emergency call is transmitted once, or repeatedly*,
on the specified emergency channel.
* Depending on the pre-programmed settings.
A repeat emergency call is automatically transmitted until you
turn the power OFF. Depending on the pre-programmed set-
tings, receiving a matching 5-tone code cancels the transmis-
sion.
When no emergency channel is specified, the call is transmit-
ted on the operating channel.
If you want to cancel the Emergency function, hold down
[Emergency] for the pre-programmed time period again be-
fore transmitting the call.
If your transceiver is programmed for Silent operation, you
can transmit emergency calls without the beep sounding and
the LED indicator lighting.
IMPORTANT:
We recommend that you have an emer-
gency channel to provide reliable emergency calls. Ask
your dealer for details.
