Instructions for freezing your reusable Cold Capsule®
Inserts:
1. Place the Cold Capsule
®
inserts in the freezer with
the round seal facing up. Try to keep uncovered so
they can “breathe”. The formula will crystalize and
become fluffy.
2. The initial freeze should be 6 hours or more.
Refreezing after use will take 3-4 hours.
3. Remove the inserts from the freezer and gently
massage to loosen snow crystals as shown in
Fig. 1.
4. Cold Capsule
®
Inserts may be wiped clean with a
damp cloth after use.
5. To refreeze, you can take the inserts out of the
wraps saving freezer space, or place the entire
wrap with the Cold Capsule
®
Inserts directly into
your freezer.
6. If the inserts feel stiff, gently massage them or
set out to thaw for a few minutes before using the
wraps. When inserts become too chunky to conform
to the horse’s legs it’s time to replace them.

Instructions for Wrap:
1. Place the Cold Capsule

2. Wipe area to be cooled with a damp sponge. Skip
this step if you are treating an open wound or an
area that needs to be kept dry.
3. Place the Ice Horse

the inside sleeve tightly against the horse’s leg as
shown in Fig. 3.
4. Wrap the outer compression sleeve around the leg
and secure tightly with the Velcro
®
straps starting
with the middle strap. Next tighten the bottom strap
and finish at the top as shown in Fig. 4.
5. Check to see that the ice is secure against the leg
and retighten wraps as necessary.
6. Apply cold therapy for 30 minutes to 2 hours
depending on condition or veterinarian
recommendation.
WHEN USING ICE HORSE® PRODUCTS, WE RECOMMEND
YOUR HORSE IS SECURELY TIED AND NOT LEFT
UNATTENDED.
