one of five problem state instructions (KMAC, KM, KMC, KIMD, KLMD) documented
in the z/OS Principals of Operation .
Crypto Express2
Crypto Express2 is an optional feature that combines and replaces the functionality
provided by PCI Crypto Accelerator (PCICA) and the PCI X Crypto Coprocessor
(PCIXCC). Crypto Express2 is immediately available for use if the LPAR has been
activated with the Cryptographic number assigned to it and the image has been
placed in the Cryptographic Online List.
On the z9 EC, the maximum number of Crypto Express2 features (0863) is eight
(8), (The z9 BC can have a combination of Crypto Express2 and Crypto
Express2-1P, but the max of both would be 8.)
There is no CHPID association to Crypto Express2 in the System z9. However, a
Cryptographic number is required to be associated with each Crypto Express2
feature. Crypto Express2 is associated with a Cryptographic number during its
installation. This Cryptographic number is to be specified in the Cryptographic
Candidate and Online Lists. (See “Cryptographic Characteristics” on page 3-77).
