ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD
The
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD
contains
a
setup
and
installation
program
that
is
designed
for
your
server.
The
ServerGuide
program
detects
the
server
model
and
optional
hardware
devices
that
are
installed
and
uses
that
information
during
setup
to
configure
the
hardware.
The
ServerGuide
program
simplifies
operating-system
installations
by
providing
updated
device
drivers
and,
in
some
cases,
installing
them
automatically.
If
the
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD
did
not
come
with
the
server,
you
can
download
a
free
image
of
the
CD
or
purchase
the
CD
from
the
ServerGuide
fulfillment
Web
site
at
http://www.ibm.com/systems/management/serverguide/
sub.html.

Note:
The
LSI
Configuration
Utility
program
on
the
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD
provides
limited
RAID
capability.
Use
the
LSI
Configuration
Utility
program
that
is
integrated
in
the
BIOS
to
get
the
full
range
of
RAID
configuration
capabilities.

all
features
are
supported
on
all
server
models.
The
ServerGuide
program
requires
a
supported
IBM
server
with
an
enabled
startable
(bootable)
CD
or
DVD
drive.
In
addition
to
the
ServerGuide
Setup
and
Installation
CD,
you
must
have
the
operating-system
CD
or
DVD
to
install
the
operating
system.
The
ServerGuide
program
performs
the
following

Sets
system
date
and
time
v
Detects
an
installed
ServeRAID
adapter
and
runs
the
SAS/SATA
RAID
configuration
program
v
Checks
the
microcode
(firmware)
levels
of
a
ServeRAID
adapter
and
determines
whether
a
later
level
is
available
from
the
CD
v
Detects
installed
optional
hardware
devices
and
provides
updated
device
drivers
for
most
adapters
and
devices
v
Provides
diskette-free
installation
for
supported
Windows
operating
systems
