Uninstalling the TrackPoint Device
Driver
If you want to remove the keyboard to use a different pointing device,
you must uninstall the TrackPoint device driver and disconnect the
TrackPoint keyboard.
Uninstalling the Device Driver for Windows 98
To change from the TrackPoint device driver to the standard mouse
driver:
1. On the Taskbar, click on the Start button.
2. Select Settings, Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the System icon.
4. Select the Device Manager tab.
5. Double-click on the Mouse icon.
6. Select IBM PS/2 TrackPoint.
7. Click on Properties.
8. Click on the Device tab under IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Properties.
9. Click on Update Driver.
10. Place a check in the Search for better driver than the one your
drive is using now (Recommended) checkbox.
11. Click on Next.
12. Place a check in the Updated Driver (Recommended) PS/2
Compatible Mouse Port checkbox.
13. Click on Next.
14. Click on Next.
15. Restart your computer so the new settings take effect.
To uninstall the TrackPoint application for Windows 98:
1. On the Taskbar, click on the Start button.
2. Select Settings, Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Then choose
IBM TrackPoint Keyboard Support from the displayed list and
click on the Add/Remove button to uninstall.
4. Select OK and restart your computer so the new settings take
effect.
Uninstalling the Device Driver for Windows 95 or
Windows NT 4.0
To change from the TrackPoint device driver to the standard mouse
driver:
1. On the Taskbar, click on the Start button.
2. Select Settings, Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the Mouse icon to open Mouse Properties.
4. Click on the General tab at the top of the Mouse Properties
window.
5. Click on the Change button.
6. Place a check in the Show all devices checkbox.
7. On the left side under Manufacturers, select (Standard mouse
types).
8. On the right side, select Standard PS/2 Port Mouse.
9. Click on the OK button.
10. Click on the Close button on the Mouse Properties window.
11. Restart your computer so the new settings take effect.
