Opening
the
blade
server
cover
The
following
illustrations
show
how
to
open
the
cover
on
a
blade
server.
These
instructions
also
apply
to
opening
the
cover
of
a
MPE
or
expansion
unit.
To
open
the
blade
server
cover,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Before
you
begin,
read
and
2.
If
the
blade
server
is
installed
in
a
BladeCenter
unit,
remove
it
(see
3.
Carefully
lay
the
blade
server
down
on
a
flat,
static-protective
surface,
with
the
cover
side
up.
4.
Press
the
blade-cover
release
on
each
side
of
the
blade
server
and
lift
the
cover
open,
as
shown
in
the
illustration.
5.
Lift
the
cover
from
the
blade
server
and
store
it
for
future
use.
