
Replacing a failed power supply unit
Before you begin
When you are replacing a failed power supply unit, make sure that you do not unplug the power supply
unit that is working as this will disrupt service to the GX7000 Series appliance.
Procedure
Do the following steps to replace a failed power supply unit.
1.
Unplug the power cord of the failed power supply unit.
2.
Remove the power supply unit.

, and hold the release latch in this position, as shown in Figure 1.

Pull the failed power supply unit from the back of the appliance.
3.
When fully removed from the back of the appliance, set aside the failed power supply unit.
Attention:
Make sure that the gold connectors at the rear of the power supply unit do not come into
contact with your hands or with the packing material as you unpack the replacement power supply
unit. Avoid damaging the gold connectors against the chassis as you insert the replacement power
supply unit.
4.
Unpack the replacement power supply unit.
5.
Carefully align the replacement power supply unit, and fully insert the power supply unit into the
chassis until you hear the release latch click in place.
6.
Plug in the power cord to the replaced power supply unit.
