5.3.1 Contact Start Stop (CSS)
The drive is designed to withstand a minimum of 52,000 contact start/stop cycles under 40˚ C with 15-20%
humidity.
The drive is designed to withstand a minimum of 10,400 contact start/stop cycles under 55˚ C with 8-15%
humidity.

5.3.3 Data Reliability

ECC implementation
On-The-Fly correction, performed as a part of read channel function, recovers up to 6 symbols of error
in 1 sector. (1 symbol is 8 bits.)
Off-line correction, performed as a part of retry procedure in the drive, recovers up to 9 symbols of error
in 1 sector.
5.3.4 Failure Prediction ( S.M.A.R.T.)
DTNA-2xxxx supports S.M.A.R.T. function. The details are described in 10.6, “ S.M.A.R.T. Function” on
page 63.
5.3.5 Cable Noise Interference
To avoid any degradation of performance throughput or error when the interface cable is routed on top or
comes in contact with the H D A assembly, the drive must be grounded electrically to the system frame by
four screws. The common mode noise or voltage level difference between the system frame and power cable
ground or AT interface cable ground should be in the allowable level specified in the power requirement
section.
