Replacing an EV-DDM
Complete the following steps to replace the hot-swap EV-DDMs that you removed
before the installation.
Attention: After you remove an EV-DDM CRU, wait 70 seconds before replacing
or reseating it to allow it to properly spin down. Failure to do so may cause
undesired events.
1. Lift up on the handle and gently push the EV-DDM CRU into the empty bay
until the hinge of the tray handle latches beneath the storage expansion
enclosure bezel, as show in Figure 41.
2. Push the tray handle down until the latch clicks into place.
3. Repeat step 1 and step 2 to replace additional EV-DDMs.
Replacing the DR550 Expansion Drawer (EXP420) CRUs
Use the following procedures to replace the customer-replaceable units (CRUs) in
the EXP420 after the EXP420 is installed successfully in a rack.
Replacing an ESM
Complete the following steps to replace the ESM that you removed before the
installation:
Attention: After you remove an ESM, wait 70 seconds before reseating or
replacing the ESM. Failure to do so may cause undesired events. The left and right
ESMs are seated in the EXP420 chassis in opposite orientations. If you cannot fully
insert the ESM into the ESM bay, flip it 180° and reinsert it.
1. Slide one ESM into the empty slot in the storage expansion enclosure. Be sure
that the lever is pulled straight out as you slide the ESM in, as shown in
Figure 42 on page 121.
