latest
firmware
levels
for
the
expansion
card
are
listed
in
the
change
history
file
of
the
firmware
update
utility.
If
the
tool
has
a
later
level
of
firmware
than
the
firmware
level
that
is
installed
on
the
card,
use
the
update
tools
to
install
the
latest
level.
Notes:
1.
The
Windows
and
Linux
versions
of
the
update
tool
automatically
update
all
Broadcom
communications
modules
that
are
encountered
during
the
scan
for
devices.
2.
There
are
two
groups
of
devices:
NetXtreme
and
NetXtreme
II.
The
expansion
card
is
part
of
the
NetXtreme
II
group.
If
a
message
is
displayed
that
the
NetXtreme
Adapters
were
not
found,
ignore
this
message.
Replacing
an
expansion
card
If
you
have
to
replace
the
expansion
card,
use
the
procedure
in
this
section
to
install
the
replacement
expansion
card.
The
expansion
card
is
a
Tier
1
customer
replaceable
unit
(CRU).
Replacement
of
Tier
1
CRUs
is
your
responsibility.
If
IBM
installs
a
Tier
1
CRU
at
your
request,
you
will
be
charged
for
the
installation.
The
CRU
part
number
of
the
expansion
card
is
44W4488.

To
remove
the
expansion
card,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
2.
If
the
blade
server
is
installed
in
the
BladeCenter
unit,
remove
it
(see
the
documentation
that
came
with
your
BladeCenter
unit
for
instructions).
3.
Carefully
lay
the
blade
server
on
a
flat,
static-protective
surface.
4.
Open
the
blade
server
cover
or
expansion-unit
cover
(see
the
documentation
that
came
with
your
BladeCenter
unit
for
instructions).
5.
Locate
the
expansion
card.
6.
Rotate
the
handle
on
the
expansion
card
labeled
“RELEASE
ONLY”
to
the
vertical
position,
while
you
gently
pull
upward
on
the
edge
of
the
expansion
card
near
the
“Press
to
Install
label”.
