
Removing
and
replacing
a
diskette
drive
1.
Open
the
cover.
See
“Opening
the
cover”
on
page
10.
2.
Slide
the
lock
1
to
the
unlocked
position.
3.
Slide
the
drive
towards
the
rear
of
the
computer
far
enough
to
gain
access
to
the
flat
cable
connector
on
the
drive
and
disconnect
the
flat
cable
from
the
drive.
4.
Rotate
the
drive
bay
assembly
upward
and
remove
the
diskette
drive.
To
install
a
new
diskette
drive:
1.
Slide
the
new
drive
partially
into
the
bay
from
the
rear.
2.
Connect
the
flat
cable
to
the
new
drive.
3.
Slide
the
new
drive
completely
into
the
bay
and
slide
the
lock
1
to
the
locked
position.

Connecting
a
serial
ATA
hard
disk
drive
1.
Locate
the
signal
cable
that
came
with
your
computer
or
with
the
new
drive.
Note:
When
replacing
a
parallel
ATA
with
a
serial
ATA
hard
disk
drive,
you
must
obtain
the
signal
cable.
It
is
not
included
with
your
computer.
2.
Locate
the
SATA
connectors
on
the
system
board.
See
“Identifying
parts
on
the
system
board”
on
page
13.
3.
Connect
one
end
of
the
signal
cable
to
the
drive
and
the
other
to
either
the
SATA
1
IDE
or
the
SATA
2
IDE
connector
on
the
system
board.
Note:
It
makes
no
difference
which
SATA
connector
you
use.
