Targeted handheld scanning
With targeted handheld scanning, the operator can point the scanner instead of
lifting a heavy or bulky item that is in the customer's hands or shopping cart. A
specially designed pointer line helps the operator aim at the bar code.
The scanner's shape cradles comfortably in the operator's hand. Its weight is dis-
tributed evenly to maximize balance and minimize fatigue.
To use the 4685-L0D scanner as a targeted handheld scanner:

Grasp the scanner in the palm of the hand, with the thumb on or near the
trigger switch.

Lift the scanner from the stand, and position it over the product to be
scanned.
