CD-R discs are playable on audio CD players. CD-RW discs are not playable
on most audio CD players.
Note: CD-RW media is rated by write speed. This drive can write high-speed
and low-speed CD-RW media.

Formatting CDs
You must format a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc using DLA before you can drag
and drop files to the disc.
To format a CD-R or CD-RW disc with the DLA program:
1. Insert a blank disc.

Double-click My Computer .
3.
Right-click on the CD-RW icon.
4.
Click Format .
5.
Type the title of your disc in the Volume Label window. The disc name can
be up to 11 characters.
6. If you plan to use data compression with this disc, select the Enable
compression on this disc check box.
7. If you want to use EasyWrite for background format, select the EasyWrite
check box.
8. Click Start to start disc formatting, and click OK when formatting is
completed.

Click
OK
when the format finished box appears. You can now write
information to the disc.
Note: Normal formatting will take from 4 to 45 minutes, depending on the
speed of the media. EasyWrite formatting will take under 2 minutes, but
will require an additional minute when the CD is ejected or the
computer turned off.
Note: You can do other tasks on your computer while the disc is being
formatted.
