Configuring server names
Use the Names window to configure names for servers. The Names list is always sorted by port
order.
A name assigned to a server is stored in the console switch cable or CO, so even if you move the
cable or CO to another ARI port, the name and configuration of the server is still recognized by the
switch.
NOTE:
If a server is turned off, its CO or console switch cable does not appear in the Names list.
Accessing the Names window
1.
Access the Setup window. If needed, see “Accessing the Setup window” on page 30.
2.
Click
Setup
->
Names
.
The Names window opens.

NOTE:
If configuration of a server changes, the mouse cursor will turn into an hourglass as the list is
automatically updated. No mouse or keyboard input will be accepted until the list update is complete.
Configuring a server name
1.
Access the Setup window. If needed, see “Accessing the Setup window” on page 30.
2.
Click
Names
. The Names window opens.
3.
Select a server name or port number and click
Modify
. The Name Modify
window opens.
