Chapter 4. Diagnostics and
Troubleshooting
This chapter contains supplementary diagnostics and trouble-
shooting information for the EtherJet CardBus Adapter with 56K
Modem. For troubleshooting information specific to your operat-
ing environment, see the appropriate installation chapter. This
supplementary information is intended for users or network
administrators who are already familiar with the EtherJet Card-
Bus Adapter with 56K Modem and its user documentation, and
who have run into difficulties after having completed the appropri-
ate installation and troubleshooting procedures for their operating
environment.
Note: For additional troubleshooting information, see the Win-
dows Help file HELPDOCS.HLP on the DOS, Windows 3.x,
and NetWare Installation Diskette.
Diagnostic Self Tests
IBM provides both a DOS-based and Windows-based self-test
diagnostics program. These programs test several EtherJet Card-
Bus Adapter with 56K Modem functions and report test results,
the serial number of the unit, and the node address.
For additional information and instructions see the Help features
in the utilities.
IBMCTEST.EXE
For MS-DOS and Windows 3.x. Found on the
DOS, Windows 3.x, and NetWare Installation
Diskette.
IBMCDIAG.EXE
For Windows 95, 98, and NT. Found on the
Windows 95, 98, and NT Network Drivers Dis-
kette.

Diagnostic Program
Note: IBMCTEST can only be run from the MS-DOS command
line. It cannot be run from a DOS box within Windows.
