Radio operations
General operations
Press TUNER button to select the radio function.
Press BAND/FOLDER button to select the desired radio band FM or AM (MW).
The AM signal is picked up through the built-in antenna. The set should be placed to a proper
position for the best reception.
For FM reception, adjust the FM antenna appropriately to obtain the best reception on the band
selected.
Use ID3/FM MODE button to select the FM mono or stereo mode.
Manual frequency adjustment (scan mode)
Press NEXT or BACK buttons to scan the radio frequency up or down by 1 step at a time. The display
will indicate the exact frequency at each step’s position. When a desired frequency or station is reached,
it can be saved into one of the memory positions (see Radio memory below).
Automatic frequency adjustment (seek mode)
Press and hold for 2 seconds NEXT or BACK buttons to automatically adjust the radio frequency up or
down to the next available radio station. The display will indicate the exact frequency of the next station
that is found. When a desired frequency or station is reached it can be saved into one of the memory
positions (see Radio memory below).
Radio memory (station preset memory storage)
At any time the currently displayed station or frequency can be stored into one of the memory position.
Adjust the frequency to a desired station. Press PROG/CLOCK ADJ button. The display will indicate the
radio station frequency and the memory storage position. Press MEM+/REPEAT or MEM-/RANDOM
buttons to select desired memory position (there are 10 memory positions for AM band and 20 positions
for FM band). Press PROG/CLOCK ADJ button to save the selected station into the selected memory
position. To recall any saved memory position, press MEM+/REPEAT or MEM-/RANDOM buttons. To
clear the memory or any position, simply save a new station to the same memory position.
RDS (Radio Data System)
RDS (Radio data system) allows text information to be transmitted by a radio station together with the
music. This text information can include:
- name of the radio station
- name of the program or song
- traffic information
- news headlines
- weather information
- etc...
If you have tuned into a radio station that is broadcasting RDS information, the “RDS” symbol will
automatically be indicated in the display, and the text information, which is being transmitted by that
station will appear on the display.

This unit supports the following RD modes, which may be selected by repeatedly pressing STOP/RDS
