4.1.1
General considerations
When performing modification work on the basic vehicle, certain requirements and
recommendations must be adhered to.
Before starting work on the basic vehicle, the Body Builder should check whether
the chassis is suitable for the proposed new body, and if the equipment chosen cor
-
respond to the demands of the service.
See chapter 2.1 "Recommendations for planning work".
In order to preserve the safety and good performance of the final vehicle, it is also
recommended that no action should be taken on important vehicle components such
as the braking system, steering system, security systems, etc.
If for some reason work needs to be carried out on any of these components, once
the work has been completed, they must each be returned to their original positions
and the same conditions and properties, such as proper screw torque, quality, liquid
levels, etc.
If new components or additional equipment are added, make sure that the conditions
and maintenance times are similar to those of the components supplied by HMC
from the factory; otherwise too much time and effort will be wasted whenever
maintenance work is carried out.
