Never attempt to move the machine in any way other than intended for normal use while the
engine is running.
• Reduce the throttle during engine shutdown and close the fuel valve.
• Factory-fitted control devices, such as the handle-mounted clutch cable, must not be removed
or exposed.
• Always turn off the engine and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop
before making any repairs, adjustments, or inspections.
•
Before leaving the machine to clear blockages, check, clean, refuel or after striking foreign
object, stop the engine and make sure that the blades have come to a complete stop.
•
You must switch off the engine and unplug the spark plug cable (making sure that all moving
parts are stationary):
- Before refuelling.
- After striking a foreign object, you must inspect the machine for damage and make repairs
before using it again.
- Before checking or working on the machine.
- Before clearing blockages.
- When transporting the machine.
- Whenever you leave the machine unattended.
• DO NOT sweep up explosive liquids, combustible gasses or undiluted acids or solvents. This
includes petrol, paint thinner or heating oil which can generate explosive fumes or mixtures upon
contact with the suction air. Acetone, undiluted acids and solvents must also be avoided as they
can harm the materials on the machine.
• DO NOT sweep up reactive metal dusts such as aluminium, magnesium and zinc. They form
explosive gases when they come in to contact with highly alkali or acidic detergents.
• DO NOT sweep up any burning or glowing objects.
• The machine may not be used or stored in hazardous areas.
• If the machine is to be used in a hazardous area such as a filling station, the corresponding
safety provisions must be observed.
• For air cooling a minimum of 1m is required all around the machine.
• Fire risk- Fuel can expand and overflow in a hot environment or moving vehicle. Explosion risk-
LPG/ Petrol can leak and the vapour is heavier than air.
