0. Fluid module:
To create a liquid indication of time that is small, wearable and multi-purpose, HYT
embarked on a completely new idea, using two flexible reservoirs at each end of a
capillary tube. The system is sealed, with each reservoir containing a liquid of a different
colour and different density. The Fluid module represents this complete system.
1. Meniscus:
The two fluids are separated by the positive and negative polarities of the molecules of
each that keep them apart like magnetic repulsion. The meniscus marks the breaking
point with the other fluid in the tube, indicating the time.
2. Bellows:
The bellows are the two reservoirs (located at 6 o’clock) made of a highly resistant,
flexible electro-deposited alloy, each driven by a piston. This is where watchmaking
comes in to activate the system. When one is emptied, the other fillls, and vice-versa,
moving the liquid along the tube.
3. Capillary:
The round glass tube, milled to form a circle, the capillary, in which the two non-miscible
fluids flow.
4. Retrograde:
When the fluorescent liquid gets to 6pm hours; it flows black to its original position,
going backwards.
