ADJUST MAIN-LIFT CHAINS
NOTE:
On three-stage masts, the free-lift chains
must be adjusted before adjusting the main-lift
chains.
NOTE:
The nuts used to adjust the main-lift chains
are on the chain anchors near the top of the outer
weldment. See Figure 26.
Read and follow the instructions in General of this
section.
Masts with free lift cylinder - Adjust chain anchors
at main lift cylinders so top of inner mast weldment
is even with top of outer mast weldment ±1.5 mm
(0.06 in.)
All masts - Adjust chains (inner chains on masts with
free lift cylinder) so bottom of carriage is 82.55 mm
(3.25 in.) above floor. Verify that chains (of each
chain set) are adjusted for equal tension.
Two-Stage
1.
Fully lower the carriage. Measure the distance
from the floor to the bottom of the carriage. The
correct distance is 82.55 mm (3.25 in.).
2.
If the distance is correct, the chains are adjusted
for the correct height. Perform Step 5 next. If the
distance is NOT correct, perform all of the steps.
3.
Remove the mast operator guard. See Figure 8.
Loosen both lock nuts at the chain anchors to
make any adjustments.
4.
Adjust the nuts of the chain anchors equal
amounts for the correct distance (Step 1).
