Preventive maintenance
Tips
 Keep the work area clean and free of fluid spills. Use catch basins under areas where water or hydraulic fluid can spill
during maintenance or repair procedures.
 Keep accurate maintenance records.
 Remove all tools from the work area before starting the pump.
 Keep parts available so that they are ready when required.
 Follow local protocols for recycling or disposal of parts and materials. Refer to Recycling and end of product life on
page 193.
Follow all safety requirements and applicable safety laws and regulations.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair activities with operations and safety staff.
Examine and clean the pump regularly. Make repairs promptly.
Use proper tools for maintenance procedures. Some tools are designed to make the procedure easier and to
prevent damage to the pump.
People who maintain and repair this equipment must know how to use standard hand tools.
Before reassembling high-pressure or hydraulic parts, make sure that the parts have been wiped clean to
remove dirt or other contaminants.
Use clean hands when changing high-pressure parts such as high-pressure water seals.
