Notice: when necessary according to the instructions, stabilisers
and ballast have to be used.
At windspeeds of 12m/s and more, the stability is not being
guaranteed. Extra windload should be taken in account (tunnelwinds
in open structures, corners at buildings). In these cases the tower
should be dismantled or moved into a safe zone, or secured otherwise.
4. Stability
- Before use, check if the tower has been erected correctly and
completely and check safety equipment.
- Apply brakes (red pedal in down position) (if attached).
- Mobile aluminium towers should be moved lengthwise and at normal
walking speed.
- Avoid contact with other objects.
- The mobile aluminium tower may only be used when all precautionary
guardrails and toeboards are in place, according to the manufacturers
instructions.
- Trapdoors should be closed, except when in direct use.
- Be aware of horizontal and vertical loads which may lead to tipping
over of the aluminium tower e.g.:
- horizontal loads (working on other structures, push off
effect of heavy equipment, ...)
- extra windloads, like windtunneleffect in open structures,
corners at buildings
- Tools and materials should be passed on from below. Do not
overload platform.
- Check the functioning of stabilisers (if attached) before using the
aluminium tower.
- Do check national and local legislation before every use.
5. Safety notice
- All parts of the aluminium tower should be handled carefully when
transported to avoid damage.
- Store all parts correctly and safely to avoid damage.
- Protect all parts against weathering.
- Check all moving parts on their functioning and on being clean.
- Check all parts on damages.
- Replace damaged parts.
