Installation, Programming and Maintenance User Guide Oxymatic Smart
V. 1.3.2. May 2015

6.2.
POOL DESINFECTION
VERY IMPORTANT
Before treating the water of your pool whith the Oxymatic system make sure that the water is totally
disinfected because this system, in normal use, is not capable of performing a shock treatment, that
means it is not able to disinfect green water with algae.
Consult pag. 26
6.3.
FILTER WASH
Make a filter backwash. This process will clean the filter until you remove all waste previously retained
by the filter. Consult the manual of the filter.
6.4.
COPPER ADJUSTMENT ( CU
++
)
Measure the dissolved copper in the water with a colorimetric set:
If you have a copper level between 0.5 to 0.7 ppm, we can start the Oxymatic system.
If you have a copper level above 0.7 ppm, try to decrease. For this, we can renew part of
the water of the pool with water without copper or use metal sequestering agent.
If the level of copper is below 0.5 ppm, increase copper:
Recommended by Hydrover:
-
Start Oxymatic in manual position.
-
Run the copper electrode only.
-
Leave your computer running 48 hours straight
-
Measure copper.
-
Increase number of hours to reach recommended values.
The copper ion, Cu
++
, is a potent algaecide and bactericide. At concentrations below 0.4 ppm,
less effective, and above 0.7 can generally spot on the glass of the pool.
IMPORTANT: This setting must be made in the implementation since the Oxymatic is
responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of copper in the water. The
recommended dosage (0.5 and 0.7 ppm) did not affect health as according to WHO
(World Health Organization) a potable water up to 2 mg / l of copper.
