Adjusting the drive belt
1.
Remove the belt guard by removing the three
screws on the front of the belt guard.

Undo the four screws (A) on the cutting shroud.
4.
Remove the locking nuts (B) on the tension
bolts.
5.
Turn the tension bolts (C) clockwise to tighten
the belt or counterclockwise to loosen it.

Check that the belt is properly tensioned by
squeezing the belt together. It should be
possible to squeeze the belt down about
6 - 20 mm from the original position.
6.
Check that the pulleys are aligned using a ruler
or similar.
Adjust using the tension bolts as necessary.
Check belt tension again.
7.
Tighten all screws and nuts when the
adjustment is complete.
8.
Refit the belt guard.
WARNING!
Prevent the engine from being
started by removing the ignition
cable from the spark plug.
