Changing the glass fiber yarn filling in the main silencer
Warning
Danger of burns
The exhaust system gets very hot when the vehicle is driven.
–
Allow the exhaust system to cool down before performing any work on the vehicle.
Info
Over time, the fibers of the glass fiber yarn escape and the damper "burns" out.
Not only is the noise level higher, the performance characteristic changes.
Preparatory work

Remove the right side cover. (

Remove the main silencer. (

Main work
–
Remove all the screws on the main silencer.
–
Take off silencer cap

with filter.
–
Take off outer tube

–
Remove glass fiber yarn filling

from the inner tube with
connecting cap

–
Clean the parts that need to be reinstalled and check for
damage.
–
Mount the new glass fiber yarn filling with connecting cap
onto the inner tube.
–
Position the inner tube with the connecting cap and glass
fiber yarn filling in the outer tube.
–
Position the silencer cap with filter in the outer tube.
–
Mount and tighten all of the screws.

Finishing work

Install the main silencer. (

Install the right side cover. (

Removing the fuel tank
Danger
Fire hazard
Fuel is highly flammable.
The fuel in the fuel tank expands when warm and can escape if overfilled.
–
Do not refuel the vehicle in the vicinity of open flames or lit cigarettes.
–
Switch off the engine for refueling.
–
Make sure that no fuel is spilled; particularly not on hot parts of the vehicle.
–
If any fuel is spilled, wipe it off immediately.
–
Observe the specifications for refueling.
