Replacing worn flail blades
1.
Allow the engine to cool.
2.
Disconnect the spark plug.
3.
Tip the machine forward; see the section ”Two
minute rule”.
4.
Remove e-rings (1) (locking washer type) that
hold the blade shaft (2) in place (see the
illustration).
5.
Inspect the blade shafts and replace if bent or
worn.
6.
Drive the blade shafts out towards the center.
The blades (4) and the plastic spacers (3) will
fall off.
7.
Fit the new blades and replace the plastic
spacers as necessary. Refer to the illustration
of the components for blade/spacer placement.
8.
Install e-rings.
9.
Repeat this procedure for the remaining three
shafts.
10. Reattach the spark plug cable.

the ”Two minute rule”.
