To fell a tree
• Do not fell trees into uncleared areas.
• When you cut, do the work in the 9 to 12 o' clock
sector.
• Recommended maximum diameter for the trees to
be cut is 15 cm / 6 in.
• A stump at the waist height can make the tree fall in
the target direction as far as possible.
• When you cut with the push stroke and pressure, the
tree falls rearward in relative to the guide bar.
• When you cut with the pull stroke, the tree falls
forward in relative to the guide bar.
• Use the guide bar to steer the tree into the target
direction of fall. For large trees, use the branch hook
behind the guide bar.
• Make sure that the tree falls after the trunk is cut
through and before you move the product.
General work instructions
WARNING: Be careful when you cut a tree
that is in tension. It can spring to its former
position and hit you or the product, and
cause injury.
• Do a check of the work area.
• Clear an open space at one end of the work area,
and start the work from there.
• Work systematically to and fro across the area,
clearing a width of around 4-5 m/13-16 ft on each
pass. This exploits the full reach of the machine in
both directions and gives the operator a convenient
and varied working area to work in.
• You should plan the strip so that you avoid going
over ditches or other obstacles on the ground. You
should also orient the strip to take advantage of wind
conditions, so that cleared stems fall in the cleared
area of the stand.
• On sloping ground you should work along the slope.
It is much easier to work along a slope than it is to
work up and down it.
• If the stems are tightly packed, adapt your walking
pace to suit.
• If the machine is operated at temperatures below -
10°, the product and the battery must be stored in a
heated space for at least 24 hours before starting
work.
To use the product
WARNING: Do not stay directly below a
branch that is being cut. This can result in
death or injury.
• Be careful when you operate near overhead power
lines. Falling branches can result in short-circuiting.
