MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
1. Daily maintenance is required to ensure that the tool is kept in good working condition.
2. Do not store the tool in a humid environment.
3. Wipe away any excess oil with a soapy cloth.
4. Provided that maintenance of the tool is carried out regularly, the tool should provide
many years of service.
5. Should you experience any difficulty with the operation and maintenance of this tool,
contact Huskie’s technical support department at 1-800-860-6170.
1. Before connecting the tool head, make sure the pump and hose being used is working
properly, and adjusted to and rated at 10,000 psi. The use of a pump or hose not rated
at 10,000 psi working pressure may cause severe damage and result in personal injury.
2. Connect the tool head to the pump and hose, making sure all coupler connections are
secure. It is important that all connections are tight for tool to function properly.
3. Select appropriate compression die set for the connector and cable being used. Either
“W” or “O” style dies can be used with the CN-58H tool (Huskie HT58 Series or HT
Series Dies).
4. To insert the “W” style dies, depress the push pins located on either side of the com-
pression head and press die into place. Insert other die half into the die holder on ram
in the same manner. Be sure both die halves are secure before operating the tool.
5. To insert the “O” style dies, turn thumb screws located on the front of the compression
head and die holder counter-clockwise to release the D3 seat dies. Then insert the new
dies and tighten thumb screws to hold dies in place. Be sure both die halves are secure
before operating the tool.
6. Position the connector between the dies and operate pump to hold connector in place.
Fully insert cable into the barrel of the connector and operate pump as described in
the pump operations manual until connector is fully crimped. For pumps that are not
equipped with a hold feature, connector and cable must be in alignment before oper-
ating the pump.
7. Always be sure to keep couplers clean and caps in place when the tool is not being
used.
