Reflectance Preform Holder
This option provides an adjustable holder for measuring translucent and opaque preforms at the
reflectance port of the UltraScan VIS. The holder is appropriate for preforms with a shaft diameter
between 15 and 40 mm and a length of at least 50 mm.
Complete the following steps to install the holder onto the instrument.
1. Lower the sample clamp as far as it will go.
2. Insert the two finger clamps of the preform holder into the guidance holes located below the
reflectance port on the front of the instrument.
3. Tighten the holder into place by turning both knobs clockwise.
Use the preform holder as follows:
1. Standardize the instrument in RSIN mode using 0.375 inch (9.525 mm) as the area view . You will
need to remove the preform holder to standardize or else standardize before installing the holder.
