Operating principle
The
visuTone
picks up the ringing signals
from your telephone or doorbell through an
electrical connection and converts these
signals into acustic and optical signals.
1. Inserting the batteries
You will find a battery compartment on the
rear side of the
visuTone
. Open it by gently
pressing the small clip against the battery
compartment lid with your thumb and then
lift it up. Now insert the four batteries that
came with the device into the compartment,
making sure that plus is matched with
plus and minus with minus!
Replace the
lid on the compartment.
2a. Installing the telephone cable
Plug the end of the cable with the transpar-
ent clip-in connector (6-pin plug) into the
socket on the underside of the
visuTone
.
Plug the other end into a space telephone
socket.
If you use the telephone cable, the telephone/
sensor selector on the underside of the
visu-
Tone
must be set to .
Important
Please only use the telephone cable supplied
with the unit, otherwise proper function can-
not be guaranteed. The
visuTone
is designed
to be connected to an analog telephone sys-
tem.
2b. Installation of the sensor cable
Use the adhesive ring to affix the sensor
disk to the sound emission opening on your
doorbell and insert the sensor cable into
the connection jack on the underside of the
visuTone
. To do so, make sure to remove the
protective film over the adhesive ring on the
sensor disk first.
If you use the sensor cable, the telephone/
sensor selector on the underside of the
visu-
Tone
must be set to To ensure that the
visuTone
functions properly, the sensitivity
control dial must be set so that the sensor
reacts to the signal promptly.
Note
You can use the
visuTone
to either indicate
a ring at the doorbell or a ring of the tele-
phone. The
visuTone
is not able to process
and indicate both signals at the same time.
3. ON-/OFF switch
Set the ON-/OFF switch to „ON“. The
visuTo-
ne
is now ready to operate.
